The drive down to HHI this year was long and rough.
But once down there, I was happy to have brought my whole bag.
One evening, I was able to escape to Dolphin Head Point and catch a beautiful sunset. Another evening, we caught wind that there was a massive alligator sitting along one of the holes about a half-mile away, so I grabbed my tripod and rode over with my 80-200. That same evening, a little gator was swimming around the lagoon behind the house, so that lent itself to quite the photographic moment as well.

I just dug up these shots I took while sailing from Nova Scotia to Newport, RI. They were taken with a Nikon Coolpix “point n’ shoot”, but I managed to pull some decent stuff out of the 300+ pics. What a gorgeous trip!

With my sister Lisa in town, we decided to take the day off and take Maggie out of daycare for the day to spend some quality time with the Auntie Lisa…

We were going to go to the Zoo but I just wasn’t feeling the whole “finding parking, fighting tourists” thing so we decided to check out the National Cathedral.

Since I just got this 35-70 f/2.8 lens, I slapped that puppy on my camera and took it along to give it a whirl…

All of these shots were taken with my D40x on February 10, 2010 A.K.A “Snowmageddon“. We lost power for several days, as did most of the county. Christie decided for some reason to go to work that day and asked if I would give her a ride in the blizzard. At the time, we had an A6 Quattro and, to be honest, I was psyched to take ‘er out in the mess and get a few good shots along the way.
